In June 2025, AbbVie employees across Canada came together for the "Week of Possibilities," an initiative focused on making a positive impact in various communities. From bustling urban centers to tranquil rural farms, AbbVie volunteers participated in meaningful projects that contributed to the well-being of both individuals and organizations. We had an impressive participation of 215 employees, collectively contributing 519 volunteer hours.
The week kicked off in Vancouver, where AbbVie volunteers partnered with Dress for Success. Participants sorted and organized clothing donations, seeking to enhance the boutique setting for women entering or returning to the workforce.
In Calgary, the focus shifted to urban farming efforts at Grow Calgary. Volunteers assisted with building garden beds and sowing seeds to support local food supply.
The spirit of camaraderie continued in Montreal, where AbbVie volunteers supported the Saint-Antoine Community Centre by creating personalized tote bags designed to offer emotional support for seniors.
Meanwhile, volunteers at Women on the Rise contributed to a welcoming environment by embarking on a revitalization mission, enhancing spaces that support women’s advancement and community leadership.
Additionally, at Welcome Hall Mission, AbbVie volunteers tackled food insecurity, sorting and preparing grocery packages that were destined to support families in need.
In Halifax, AbbVie employees engaged with The North Grove Community Farm, enhancing the region’s food supply through practical farm work. This effort aligned with the organization's focus on sustainable practices and community engagement.
Toronto's day of volunteerism embraced inclusion at Variety Village. By enhancing accessible sports facilities, volunteers supported children of all abilities and participated in adaptive sports.
Embracing technology, AbbVie employees across Canada joined a virtual card-writing initiative with Sending Sunshine, aimed at combating senior loneliness.
